Keep Your Chin Up

"Maintain the faith" my dad used to always say (and no, he was NOT speaking religion). What he meant by that is "Never give up."

"The only difference between winners and losers," he would say, "is that losers QUIT."

So while many whiners complain the economy is shot and some would say nobody's selling on eBay . . . I'm studying the market, to learn what people WANT these days. . . So far, I have been successful selling psychic readings and Goddess figurines as well as hard-to-find antiques.

What nobody wants, anymore, is the dogmatic religious paraphernalia that I blogged about yesterday.

What people DO want is positive change. If you, dear reader, want to meet the merchandising needs of the public -- you merely need to satisfy the longings of their hearts.

On a personal level? I'm buying heirloom seeds galore on eBay (because I cannot find them in the local stores). What are YOU willing to dole money out for? [NOTE: I usually shop LOCALLY to not increase fuel consumption related to shipping -- try to be earth conscious that way -- but I'm having a tough time wanting to let go of my consumption of distant-grown rich merchandise such as COFFEE!]. I also feel that eBay support entrepreneur efforts and shopping there makes me feel good as a consumer.

My Isis statue (pictured yesterday) sold for a very reasonable price; thank you bidders! I'm also very glad to be mailing an antique barometer out this afternoon as well as two antique needlepoint pictures today (see canaries & parakeets, pictured). HOPEFULLY . . . I will have much artwork done by tonight to post images of THAT on etsy.com by tomorrow!

Richest blessings. May you always thrive no matter what the rest of the world chooses to focus upon. {Thank you, Kate, for suggesting Craigslist and Kajiji FREE posting possibilities. I did post on Kajiji and will see how that goes.}

I am a survivor. I'm not going to lay down and quit.

These circumstances only force me to re-evaluate my life and commitments.

Love,

Soon, I might begin trying. Now that Reality is seen by despair, as I've always been inclined to, I'll try to remain different. I've not yet begun to quit.

I remember a legend of Customer Service, that a man received a barometer in the mail, but it was so far from One Atmosphere, he returned it as malfunctioning. It wasn't malfunctioning at all, though, since the air pressure always does that, before a tornado.

Buisiness is so bad, the Cof$ is insisting I buy something, and I'm holding out for another U$20. If you know any Scientologists, ask if they have the tape Money, as it has advice for this time. They might have the tape, cassette, CD or LP, but that LP would be a collector's item.

Yes, 'tis the season for Clairvoyants, fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la. We could do a lot with the Holy Grail too, if you wanted.

Such a breath of fresh air. Good going!

Arawn ~ You kill me (always doing the opposite of what the rest of the world cares to do). You have never really explained your version of the Holy Grail (I know what I think it is . . .)

Hibiscus Moon ~ We've all just gotta "maintain the faith." Change will happen (it always does). :D

You are an inspiration, truly.

Now that the Pueblo mess is over, I'm going to give a try at a new business (since law just isn't my thang any more). I'm going to make myself available for hire for an hour or two to frazzled parents, whether to hold the baby while someone finally gets to shower, or pick up a grocery list and money and run to the store so the parent(s) can mark that off the list.

Wish me luck!

Not in my neighborhood, but I've this from Medicine Eagle of ForestMoon Grove... Greetings everyone, just a quick announcement. DJ Conway the author of
many of our favorite books will be coming to Mystic Wonder here in
Lakewood, WA 1-2 May from 11-7 the address is 5505 Steilacoom BLVD
Lakewood, WA 98499
phone is 253-584-4875. Thanks for all the support for things going on
as many of you know.

My understanding of the Holy Grail? There's a Hand Clapping Game, that Scientologists think to be for Children, but I think it was the work of a Past Life Templar. Each takes a turn, leading in Mimicry, around the table. Using a cup, in this, instead of clapping hands, will share in the transcendentally improved ability of holding a cup - Cup Holding Kung Fu. If someone has connection to the Holy Grail, as treasured by Joseph of Aramathea and Kissed by the Baphomet, then the grasp of that cup can be improved, by the sharing of that improvement. The Original Cup, however, had been egg shaped, with the lid-handle in the shape of an egg, harkening back to the Golden Egg of the Whole of Creation, and the willingness to knowingly share in the creation of the Whole, with God, is not actually as important, as the Awareness and Decision of the Sharing of Causation. Sharing with others, the Responsibility for Life, is the real high end blessing, and I was just thinking of a way to do this in Second Life today.

Tish ~ I don't think I ever told you I went to Gonzaga School of Law for a year. I was elected the Student Bar Association representative there so I had privilege to review some lawyer statistics no other students had. When I learned more than 80% of all law school graduates leave the legal profession within five years after graduating from law school -- I conducted a survey of local lawyers and learned they all HATED their jobs due to dissatisfaction with the so-called inJUSTICE system. Long story short . . . I'm a law school drop-out. :D

Peace sistuh. You'll find your way.

Arawn ~ I haven't heard of the Forest Moon Grove but I wonder if that address belongs to the former "Seven Keys" building (previously a New Age store). Hmmmmmm.

This article is very interesting and helpful, at least to us. We're wanting to expand our merchandising avenues, but simply don't have the time to do any thorough market research. It would make sense though that people would want something to do with "hope", whether insight or symbols, given that the economy is struggling still. Thanks for posting.

I am ALSO learning eBay and my market research is being done by trial and error when I don't have the time to sit and watch auctions. I find it very insightful to click on "time ending soonest" and see what items get how many bids (helps me decide what to post). It doesn't mean I always sell but since I'm just getting started at it . . . I feel pretty good about the progress made so far.

ANOTHER eBay tip: Don't pay for the "large photo: .35 cents" and for other posting fancy-ass stuff they offer. Do post more than one photo when appropriate. I often post my ads for a mere .65 total and if the item does not sell it may feel disappointing but at least it won't bankrupt me for trying.
