Been Thinking For A While

As a psychic, it would be so easy to make a lot more money and do it much more quickly. By that, I mean it's easy to read what people WANT from a psychic reading and since most people hire psychics on LivePerson just for some sort of reassurance (usually seeking confirmation that their boyfriend or spouse loves them) it would be easy to lure individuals into a sale.

Sometimes, I feel convinced that's what most on-line intuitives at LivePerson do -- simply tell customers what they WANT to hear. It makes the person feel good for the short-term and they leave positive feedback; expressing their glee with the reading.

Meanwhile, I have a very strong sense of personal ethics and refuse to compromise my soul for making a quick buck. That means I often won't solicit customers who have something negative coming their way (e.g., a romantic break-up). Experience has shown when I admit there's trouble ahead - and here's wisdom to maneuver around the challenges -- LivePerson customers never want to hire. It's not what they want to hear.

Fortunately, most of my clients already know me in person and those who consult with me tend to want legitimate feedback (not just pie-in-the sky information). Insisting on telling the truth hasn't hurt my ratings any. It hasn't been easy telling people when a spouse is cheating (they usually know it already; I quickly learn) but what I tell them convinces them I know what I'm looking at.

Not only have I earned a 5-star rating on LivePerson but I have 100% positive feedback for my readings on eBay. {I feel very proud of that accomplishment, since I do tell people when the job they rely upon will be lost. Most often, I can legitimately cushion the news with the promise that their layoff will make way for a much better opportunity (hopefully it's always coming very soon).

SWITCHING GEARS:
Here's a little tip I enjoyed from a book by Barbara Ann Kipper, called Instant Karma.: "Leave a flower on someone's pillow today."

I can so relate to this. That's why I tell clients straight out beforehand that I will NOT lie to them, will only go by what the guides and intuition tells me. A lot of the psychics online - especially at LP - have little in the way of ethics when it comes to telling the "truth" (to them it's about ratings and money). The "psychic market" is so glutted (and maybe tarnished too because of the unethical ones) that fewer people are seeking psychic insight. I've had a few clients that have threatened to give low rates if I didn't tell them what they wanted to hear, but in response I told them that they are not ready for any kind of insight, as it's not my job to paint them fantasy portraits and, as much as it might hurt them to know that a relationship is over (due to lack of communication and effort or whatever), it can be hard to do. As a result of such honesty, they've given good comments instead, which is cool.

I personally think you are doing the right thing. A lot of psychics have a bad rep for being cheap frauds and I think just telling the customer what they want to hear is probably a very large piece of that problem.

If I ever feel like I need a psychic, you'll be the first person I think of!

Companion Wulf ~ Good comments are what motivate me (more than the money -- but I've got to admit, when needing to fuel up the car at the gas station, money really helps). Thank you for your feedback.

Alianna ~ You are so cool. Thank you for the compliment.

Fijufic ~ stay well (keep blogging about your warm weather and seemingly-summertime fun to keep us who shiver in the cold fantasizing about that better season to come).
