Where Have All The Puppy Mills Gone?

Last night, instead of dreaming about flowers and sunshine or hallucinating about butterflies, I explored the Big Apple with my best buddy Faerheart and in the middle of our joyous and pleasurable trip I suddenly realized that I had left my two dogs (beloved Pug and princess Dachshund) back home with a third larger mix-breed dog. All three of these incredible dogs had been left inside separate much-too-small plastic doggie-crates with no food and not enough water.

TALK ABOUT A HUGE DOWNER!

In my dream, I had not even told anyone that I was leaving for New York (so the dogs had nobody to care for them and I was the only one with a set of keys to my house). The rest of my dream was spent feeling UTTER PANIC while I rushed to GET HOME, quickly as possible. I remained full of guilt and shame until I finally woke up.

Blame this dream on the two very large puppy-mills that Seattle area police just busted. Or blame this dream on the two-shots of vodka I drank a couple of hours before going to bed. It certainly caused me to create a mental “to do” list where I can now check off all of my obligations to make sure no important details are ever overlooked during my waking moments.

This dream also really causes me to realize how deeply one person’s actions, e.g., the puppy mill owner(s), truly impact the rest of us energetically (as in our dreams) and financially (as dog-lovers everywhere now pick up the tab to get these poor dogs the medical care that’s been too-long neglected).

Here's the Televised News Footage
* Seattle: King 5 Puppy Mill - Dog Rescue Video

This morning's Seattle Times declared that 80% of all those 600-some dogs are pregnant. All the precious rescued dogs are small breeds: such as Chihuahuas, Shih Tzus, Poodles and Yorkshire terriers but I saw images of a pug on the T.V. news footage as well. Many have deadly diseases and more have diarrhea. (This was just so sad/preventable/unneccesary.)

(After watching the video, you can see where I got the "much-too-small plastic doggie-crates" image for my dream).

I'd like to see state laws come about where these puppy-mill owners lose their property (it be sold to care for the health and well-being of these dogs -- until well-intentioned humans can adopt them).

Dogs are sacred to the Greek Goddess Hecate (pictured). As the Goddess of the three crossing roads, she's sometimes depicted as a three-headed dog as well.

Cerberus (the three-headed dog, who according to Greek and Roman mythology, guards the gates of Hades) will certainly NOT let those puppy-mill owners escape their eventual fate.

Those kind of stories tug at my heart strings too. I believe those people will pay dearly someday. I have been having vivid dreams myself but can't seem to remember them. That one would have freaked me out. Anxiety dreams. I used to have them when I was overwhelmed with work.. Hope you are having a fabulous weekend... I've been thinking of you today. **Blessings to you and all those puppies. Born and unborn.

Ughh, I hate dreams like that but then its good to feel the relief when you realize that its not real...or is it? Good that it led you to create a to-do list. Love the addition of the Hecate art. Beautiful.

hibiscus moon,
Relief because now is more real than the dream as long as we currently occupy the here and NOW fully...

Cygnus MacLlyr ~ Interesting point and yet some would argue that "all of life is an illusion." (I'm not saying I agree . . . just feel as though I'm constantly in search of "what is reality.")
